WOMEN'S RIGHTS
Women are not simply reproductive vessels. In addition to the right to choose, women deserve equal pay for equal work, protections under the law such as the 'Violence Against Women Act' and the ability to choose birth control that works for them, not what their employer's religious beliefs mandate.
FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change isn't just the melting of polar ice caps and warmer seasons. If ignored, it will affect our health, agriculture, food security, water supply, energy, and ecosystems. There needs to be a serious shift away from fossil fuels and towards a fully green system that can not only save the planet and its inhabitants but also create millions of green jobs.
IMMIGRATION
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free... " Immigrants built this country, making it what it is today. We need to reject the nativist movement that treats immigrants - documented or otherwise - as something less than
human. We must reject Trump's fear mongering of immigrants and make New York a sanctuary state that welcomes those in need.

We must stop the endless War on Terror, and cease engaging in unwanted interventions and unnecessary, aggressive military actions Military spending must be drawn down so that those funds can be used to improve the lives of the American people.
LGBTQIA RIGHTS
LGBTQIA rights are human rights. Love is love, and our brothers and sisters deserve the same opportunities to marry, be covered under their spouse's insurance, and have access to the same benefits afforded to every other American. We must ensure that the Supreme Court and the current administration do not to strip those rights away.
MEDICARE FOR ALL
Healthcare is a human right. A single-payer healthcare system, like those used in every other major country, would cover every single American, reduce costs, remove co-pays, premiums and deductibles, and most importantly, improve care. (Click here to read more about Medicare for All)
EDUCATION
A high quality, public education - kindergarten through college - is an absolute necessity. It will enable students to succeed in a highly competitive, global economy. We must provide greater and fair funding for our schools, resist the privatization of public
schools and offer tuition-free public college so graduates can be free of college debt when they graduate.
INCOME & WEALTH INEQUALITY
Over the last several decades, income and wealth inequality has reached unsustainable levels. It is time for the top 1% to pay their fair share through a progressive tax system. This will strengthen the middle class, ensure all Americans have access to a living wage and allow the government to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, all while creating jobs for unemployed Americans.
DEMOCRATIC REFORMS
We must pass policies to defend and expand our democratic processes. Public funding of elections, early voting, closing the LLC loophole, ending corporate campaign funding and creating a government held accountable, for their actions and finances, to every American is just the start.
RACIAL JUSTICE
People of color are disproportionately targeted physically, politically, legally and economically. They even face environmental discrimination when they are forced to live in sub-par conditions due to unfair wage practices, unbalanced education opportunities, and employment discrimination.
